    Hi there,

I am trying to install a CDR writer into my computer. However all of the IDE ports are taken up and i need to use the 'slave' ports on one of the IDE cables.

However, i am faced with the problem of having 2 'female' connections (only holes). Is there a way to reveal pins by modifying the IDE slave connections? Or is there another way? How to 'slave' connections work????

    Thanks for your time,

    internationally.

"2 'female' connections (only holes)". Are you talking about the power connectors? If so, you can buy attachments that attach to the 'females' and turn them into 'males' .

As for setting up the CDR as a slave, simply attach the other connector on your IDE cable (should be located in the middle of it) to the new drive. On the back of it, change the jumper from Master to Slave, and plug in the power connector.
