    phpmyadmin tutorial anyone?

I see lots of php tutorials but none on the phpmyadmin interface.

I'm on chapter 4 of Kevin Yank's book and now I have to put stuff on my website but I don't know all the stuff on my phpmyadmin page and the documentation is mostly foreign terminology with out definitions.

Where are there simple explanations of the phpmyadmin interface so we can transfer what we have learned about the mysql client in Kevin's book to our website?

I don't know really, but I use PHPMyAdmin all the time with my personal websites. Anything in particular you're stuck on?

(Actually, if there isn't a decent manual someone.... even me.... could write one for SP... hmmm..... )

Well I found this one now http://faq.oneandone.co.uk/perl/php/5.html and am going to try it out as soon as I get a plumber over to handle an emergency.

But, really, Sitepoint ought to have a first class tutorial posted with some tips for use for the guys doing Kevin's book.

It is fine to learn the command line of the mysql client in the book. But us newbies also need to be handheld through the phpmyadmin GUI.

    Hi there stevelittle..

I had the exact same situation when i first read K.Yanks book. After I had played around with it for a while I soon enough picked it up.. I now use a installer to create a database table, if you would like to see a working example please PM me and ill send you it over, it also can be used over and over again - just needs a the table name changing and things like that.

    Best Regards Deano
