    Open curve in Photoshop

    Hi,
I am trying to draw an open curve in Photoshop with the Pen Tool but the curve closes when I make the Path a Selection.

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Many Thanks

u can do with with a layer.... if u cannot get it done any other way.... just make another later above it and yes a white(bankground color) brush or pen tool with background color and overlap the selection the way you want it...

    i hope that helps

    Hi,

Well, it really depends on what you are trying to do with the open curve. If you want a selection that follows the curve and is only a point or two in size, you can either make a closed path that is a small arc......

Or you can leave your path open (do not convert to selection), work on a new layer if you do not want to directly edit what you are working on, right click it and "stroke path" (make sure your tool settings are the way you want them for the effect you are after), this will give you an area to create a selection from based on your open curve path.

    Hope this helps,
