I would like to combine Chinese symbols into a design. Only problem is that I don't know Chinese. Is there any resource (web or human) that can show me how to attain Chinese characters that would need to say specific words.
Im not sure if this is what you are after but you can convert english to chinese here... http://smart90.com/babel02chinese I dont read Chinese but Ive been told the translation is not very accurate, but you cant really expect an automated process to do a great job on a language as complex as Chinese.
If you are just after symbols you can access them via a unicode typeface.
If your on a pC, click the 'start button' then 'run'. Type charmap in the text field. Select Arial Uncicode MS typeface, scroll down & you will see various CHinese symbols. You can copy, then paste these in to other apps.
Your best bet is to search for a site online that will tell you what each character means. Even the direction and the weight of a line can change the meaning of the word. And you don't want a design that translates into 'you're mom's a dog' or something worse.
