"Bending" text?

Hi all.

I want to get my text to bend around the edge of a circle in Flash MX. I've noticed what MM call the "rotation" text option in the palette and it's icon looks like it does what I'm after. However, selecting it appears to do absolutely nothing..... odd! I scoured Flash help but there's nothing in there about it, except for a 3 word description of it in the idiot's guide diagram. I tried creating a guide layer, snapping my text to that and switiching it on but that didn't work, so I tried offering it up to a shape or a line and switching it on. Nope!

Anyone used this tool/effect before? Any idea how it works? It must do SOMETHING!

The infamous Chas has given me a useful workaround for Freehand users. Do the text to path work in Freehand and it imports brilliantly in to Flash from the clipboard. Nice one.

Still be interested to know if there's a way of doing it directly in MX though. Won't necessarily always have the luxury of Freehand...
