    installing mozilla

i'm not sure if this is the apropriate place to post this, but here it goes:
i've winXP and tried several times to install mozilla's last versions: normal and beta, but both freezed when they started connecting to the home page, so no mozilla available.
At my office, in a win98 i had no problems at all.
    Why?

a shot in the dark - as i don't have XP - would be: could it be something to do with the software firewall installed in XP ?

Another shot in the dark. Maybe you use a proxy server at home, and have it configured for IE but not for Mozilla?
