Help with managing a project.

I'm making a game with PHP/mySQL with some friends of mine. The problem is that I don't really know anything about managment and they are basicly waiting for me to give them something to do. Are there some people here who have experience with this?

I think the biggest problem is just that I don't know how to divide work up into smaller chunks and sometimes, we don't even know what we should be working on. Some advice would be really helpful.

thanks

Some tips --

-- Use CVS... it'll allow several people to work on one page simultaniously and will keep track of who change what so if someone breaks something you'll know who and why. It'll also prevent someone from deleting something by accident--you can rollback basically any change made.
-- Divide the program into parts and assign classes, functions, or pages to an individual. I suggest having someone write some core functions that you think all pages need then divide up the rest of the site.
-- Make diagrams or To do lists. Always helpful.

somethings that can make / brake a project ...

1. Get a PLAN ... This way you make sure everybody knows where your going, why and when... it doesn't have to be hundreds of pages just write down what you want by when..

2 . Make a timeline... I use MS-project a lot .. here you can make a project plan with a timeline and add resources (personel etc ..) to a task..

once you have a plan and a timeline it will be easy to split up the work .. sit down with the guys and girls and devide the work .. ..

Good luck
the neigbours (free) WIFI makes it just a little more fun
