Looking for efficient dynamic photo gallery

Hi all,

I would like to create to create a photo gallery web site. Divided to thumbnail, small photo and captions parts.

Q: For each part, should I have single file, with all the info included? ...and clicking on each thumbnail the code will display the small photo and the caption respectivelly.

I'm not quiet shure what is the most efficent way to handle this project.
