restoring a mysql database, have backup but dont even know what file or where to look

short story : my server crashed, a new hd was placed , linux and all was reinstalled , and i'm very lucky as the admin was able to create a whole copy of the old hd and place it on the new one. Its under /home/restore and I already found most of the things (images and so) I need to restore my websites , but have nothing about the mysql databases so far.

so my question is now... where and for what should I start looking ? I'm totally not experienced with linux , I have no idea what files I should go after and where they are supposed to be. And I dont how to copy it all to my new account on that server so I can use the old database on my "new" sites.

Any help on this would be greatly appriceated.

right.. .located the directory with the old mysql tables.

    nevermind, solved it

just copy all .frm , .MYD , .MYI files to the new database directory, and adjust their permissions, owner, group.
