My client wants to put a webcam on the web site I am building for him, but as I have not done it before I am not sure how to go about this.
he has already got a web cam installed and running on his own server in his office. for his web site however he is using a different web host.
how can i link up the two and make the web cam work on his site? what sort of info do i need from him to set it up? I have read some postings on this forum and learnt I have to set up an html page with a "refreshing" bit of JS code in it. I know how to do that but where will the html page sit? on his server?
He will need to set his webcam software up to periodically FTP a picture up to the webhost. The auto-refreshing page would be on the webhost's server along with all the other pages.
A very good piece of software I have used in the past to do so is Webcam32. Problem is however that your client must be willing to pay for it as it can be downloaded but a good crack is nowhere to find...
