I like classic Godzilla films. They're dire, but so ace. You can't beat two blokes in rubber suits destroying a cardboard city for a night's entertainment.

I'm into managa too, but not in a huge way. I've a few films, and the whole series of The Guyver, which I love.

if you mean toshiro mifune, he was in over 100 films during his carrer, his usuall and best roles were of a scruffy masterless samurai (ronin), if you havnt seen any of his films i deplore you hire one, some of his best with kurosawa (director) include Seven Samurai (george lucas claims this was the greatest movie ever made, and i agree, he also based starwars on some of the storylines), Throne of blood, Hidden fortress, Sanjiro, yohjimbo, the list goes on and on, You may have seen one of Toshiro's last films, he played the Shogun , in James clavells SHOGUN, i think it was in the late 80's. for all the hitec hollywood glitz, this B&w for the 60's are the best films and acting i have ever seen, to see toshiro mifune, act is to belive in the caratcers you are seening, each one a classic.

i guess you can tell i am a BIG BIG fan.

Japan anything... interesting topic. I won't talk about movies because i only know about Beat Takeshi's films, and that's not the whole japanese film scene of course.

And by the way, i immediately infered by your nickname that you loved japan. ... "san" tte kotoba wo mita kara yo !

So, since you wrote "japan anything", which other aspects of japan interest you ? Except mangas & films ?

But Lucy Liu is not japanese... at all. Not even of japanese origins. Liu is a common chinese name.

Also, don't buy just a tape: buy books with it.

Didn't know that bit about Toshiro Mifune .

I'm a pretty big fan of Akira Kurosawa too and some anime. The ones I really like are Akira, GITS and Evangelion. A more recent anime which impressed me is Trigun.

Any other fans of Geinoh Yamashirogumi by the way? They are the avant garde Japanese choral group which did the Akira soundtrack, which is only the best soundtrack I've ever heard.

I think Ace Nova is Godzilla...

By the way Andy, i'm living in Corsica. A place that really has no connection with Japan. Excepted that the corsican for "yes" sounds like the japanese for "no", and that both places are beautiful islands.
