Change date format with PHP3

Hi, I have a bunch of dates using this format. ie. Friday July 16, 1999

I really want to how I can transform those dates into a 14 digit timestamp.

The conversion is from Friday July 16, 1999 into this 19990716000000.

What kind of codes do I need to do this?
