The SQL syntax is relatively the same. What do you need to know?

ok, I have managed (after getting some sleep) to find some articles on it, and even one that talks of it in a windows enviroment (handy).

I have figured that SQL*Plus is an interface I can use, although I dont know how to actually log in
Also, do I have to run the actual database service or what? if not, then what username/password can I use?
