image quality deteriorates when importing jpegs?

I'm saving them as high as possible. They look good when editing, it's as soon as I play the movie the edges get jagged and I lose detail. What am I missing here?

Some more detail might help. What version of Flash are you using? When you say that you're saving them as high as possible, are you referring to saving them from Photoshop?

I'm saving them at "100" out of Photoshop/Image Ready. I'm using Flash 5.

When I import to the stage, they look fine, it's when I go to play the movie they look shoddy.

I've also cranked Flash's JPEG settings to 80 or higher and still no luck.

Actually got the image problem worked out ... now the program bombs everytime I try to do a test preview ... "ctrl-enter" ... it's fine until I add button symbols ... as soon as one is added it bombs.

    Any ideas?
