    Indesign compatibility

I'm looking to purchase a cheap version on Adobe Indesign 1.5 and I want to know if I can open version 2 files in it?

    Does anyone know?

i would presume, if other adobe products like illustrator are anything to go by, that it would be possible from Indesign 2.0 to save a file specifically as a version 1.5 or version 1.0....but don't take my word for it, as i couldn't find anything specific at the adobe support knowledgebase...

InDesign is not backwards compatible. My suggestion is to get 1.5 then upgrade.

You should *definitely* upgrade. 2.0.2 is the current version for Mac. It is a significant improvement over 1.5. 2.0 resolved many print output issues that were hamstringing printers and prepress folk from supporting InDesign.

More and more printers are supporting InDesign now and the number will only increase. It is a great application on many levels.
