    Question PHP not working

    Hi,

I installed mod_php about a week ago and it worked!

But suddenly, it stopped working. I have no idea what I could have done to break it.

Since then, I've un-installed and re-installed several times with no joy.

PHP directives are simply echoed to the browser. For example
    <?php phpinfo(); ?>
    just shows up as text.

I'm running on Mandrake 9.1 and installed everything from the 9.1 rpms.

The apache error_log is not much help. Here's what it says:

[Sat May 10 15:09:45 2003] [warn] module http_core.c is already added, skipping
PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/extensions/imap.so' - /usr/lib/php/extensions/imap.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
    [Sat May 10 15:09:45 2003] [notice] Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/1.3.27 (Mandrake Linux/8mdk) PHP/4.3.1 mod_ssl/2.8.12 OpenSSL/0.9.7 mod_gzip/1.3.26.1a configured -- resuming normal operations
[Sat May 10 15:09:45 2003] [notice] Accept mutex: sysvsem (Default: sysvsem)

Since php complains about the missing imap module (which I don't think I need) I tried to install it. That resulted in a whole bunch of warnings like this:

PHP Warning: Function registration failed - duplicate name - imap_open in Unknown on line 0

So I un-installed the imap mod.

I was going to include my config files here but they are so large I thought it might be a turnoff. If you need them, I'll be happy to post.

    Thanks for your help, Ed

Don't just post them - send them as a text attachment instead.

As to your problem I had this a while back w/ the CGI version and it's to do with the Apache config file - doesn't recognise the php extension of a file, if that's any use to you ?

OK, here are the config files (attached). I added a .txt extension to each.

    Thanks, Ed

P.S. Well I went through the motions of attaching three files; but I don't see them. How do you access attached files? Did I miss a step?

We have to wait for an Advisor to approve the attachment

    Hi.

    It's working!

Don't ask me why. I un/re-installed yet again and something miraculously got fixed.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Ed
