    Image viewer

I have seen many sites use an image viewer to diasplay images so you see them in the design of the site and not just on the traditional white background and the image placed in the upper left corner.

Is there a clever way to do this? Something like PHP automatically grapping an image and showing it in the image viewer or does everyone simply do it by linking to the image viewer and then passing the url of the image in a variable?

It would be easiest to just pass the image filename in the querystring like this

    http://www.site.com/image.php?img=/images/pic001.gif

and use PHP to cover your bases with security and show the image.

Ok, that's also what I thought, but I just wanted to know if there was another way. Thanks for the answer
