phpmyadmin and installing a forum (ubb, vbb etc.)

Hey guys, i'm very new to this phpmyadmin,
very new infact i just installed it on my personal home server today,
and i'm looking to install a forum on it. I know most forums now need mysql
database to run it and i'm found it kind of confusing to do this.
Anyone have a phpmyadmin and installed a forum on it?

If so could you tell me what forum you used and step by step to configure it with phpmyadmin , thanks alot in advance.

you use phpmyadmin to load the .sql scripts that contain the information needed to creat tables and etc.

you can also you phpmyadmin to backup your databases from time to time and also you can use it to create more users to have access to the databases hosted on a mysql server.

i stopped using phpmyadmin about a year ago and i use mysql front and it's alot easier to use well atleast in my opinion, plus it gives me more options than phpmyadmin.

also theres no confusing editing like 5 or more lines in phpmyadmin but the bad thing is that they stopped the production on mysql front though so i don't where you can download it from .

but i did install vbb with phpmyadmin and it was no trouble at all
    i love php
