gingham dress, army boots...
your best option would be to get the swift plugin for 3dsmax http://www.erain.com/

Is it free...? If not is there a free option?
-
it is not free, and i'm pretty sure theres not a free option. one approach though would be to save it as a quicktime movie and import that into flash

gingham dress, army boots...
maybe off topic, but...considering the price tag that a full version of 3D Studio Max has, the price of the plugin is really peanuts...

thanks guys, you have been a g8 help
if anyone else has anything else to say... please do!

You could export it as a 3D Shockwave object. The Max plugin to export as 3D Shockwave objects is free at the macromedia site.

You could try Plasma which makes SWF files.
discreet makes that program btw. You export to .mov and then to .swf.
