I'm trying to create an index for a 900 page PDF. This will be a linear idex, similar to the index at the end of a reference book, sorted alphabetically so that a user can select an item and be taken to the correct page in the PDF. "Indexing" discussed in the Acrobat online guide is more similar to database indexing, allowing quick searchs.

Is there a way to automatically create an alphabetic user friendly index that can be updated correctly, and links to pages in the PDF?

    Aspen,
Thanks for the reply. The Atomz site contains a good search engine, but it still doesn't provide the actual linear type of index I'm looking for. I'm trying to provide my users with a list of terms in a "booklike" index that they can read through and us to navigate my lenghty PDF. If you open Acrobat and got to Help>Acrobat Guide you will find the style of index I am shooting for on Page 596.

    Any information would be appreciated
