MY Computer has gone bonkers

MY computer has gone absolutely crazy;

when ever I view a webpage on my computer ie. type c:\mywebsites\site1\index.html the page loads but none of the pictures show - they all show a dead link - even if the link IS correct.

The only way I can look at a page to view it is when I put it in the wwwroot and look at it through PWS

Any Suggestions?

P.S - This seems to of occurred since I installed Photoshop 5.0 and Dreamweaver 3 on my computer

I had this happen as well... gifs weren't showing up... I messed around with the "folder options", assigning the extensions to IE, and eventually got it to work on two occasions. I'm not sure what causes that (as it showed gifs FINE when I was on-line - if the page was on a webserver, just not on my machine). And I forget exactly what I changed (not sure if I ever knew, heh).

I do believe that it happened once I installed a graphics program though.

yeah - thats the exact problem i have - how do I sort it out though?
