    save outputted asp as html?

I was thinking that if I could somehow save my outputted asp pages to a .html it would save server cpu. Then users who view the same pages, would view the .html instead of viewing the asp.

I am toying with the idea. I wonder if anyone has done something similiar and/or could point me in the right direction..

    thx

Maybe you could cache your pages?

That's a big component in Content Management Systems actually, especially where speed is of the utmost importance. You can always do a "screen scrape" using XMLHTTP (search the forums for Dhtmlgod's thread on using it) and save the response text in an HTML file on the server. However, linking to that file from your other pages can be a bit tricky and may involve a database in there.

I don't have too much information for you aside from that, since you are only in the beginning stages of your project, but I may be able to point you in the right direction if you need more info on any topic I've discussed above.

    Hope this helps!

Your best bet would be to purchase an existing caching product like XCache, which will handle the caching and still enable the dynamic parts that need to be dynamic.
