Check out the code hacking section of the offical UBB site at http://infopop.com

BTW, if I were you, I'd get VBulletin! It's so much better than UBB.

    From UBB Message Board:
If you have already hacked your board we are certainly not going to require you to take it down.
We are concerned that we have seen entire sections, in fact whole scripts, from the registered version being passed off as freeware. This will no longer be a viable alternative and will be a violation of the license agreement. Thus from now on no modifications of the freeware are allowed.

Let me explain a little more.

There were a few factors involved.

The freeware has never been distributed as anything other then a test version. We allowed hacking and modifying as we are well aware of the freeware version's limitations.

Lately that has gotten out of hand. There are now entire websites devoted to hacking the freeware. While that was OK the problem was that most of these hacks are code ripped straight out of the registered version. Not only does that violate the license agreements it also breaks the spirit of why we allowed code hacking on the freeware.

Also there has been a wash of pirated full versions that had certain subroutines such as version check removed. These pirated copies were rebranded with the freeware copyright and powered by information. That will no longer work for these software pirates. They can no longer claim to our piracy department that "it is just a hacked freeware".

If you have an already hacked freeware keep it. We are not going to start a witch hunt looking for hacked freeware boards. If you download a new freeware and intend to run it long term then you no longer are permitted to hack it under the license terms.
NO MORE HACKS ALLOWED IN UBB.

    They dump themselves . Huh?

Why use vB when you can get phpBB for free? It's got alot of the features that vB and UBB have plus none of the cost! What more can you ask for

Hehe, but enough of my advertising. There are lots of good boards out there are alternitives to vB and UBB that are free, open source, and in some cases better. I don't see why anyone would pay for one of these anymore
