I wasn't looking and clicked OK to some sort of messenging service, now I keep getting pop-ups.
What is it?
Can someone tell me how to get rid?

Hope so!
I know pretty little about it really. I have a Windows laptop that is my #2 computer... besides avoiding Gator ads I have little experience troubleshooting the modern threats of adware and such.
I'm really of the opinion that Microsoft needs to bundle virus/intrusion dectection software with the OS so that you get a real, fair warning about these things.

I'd never trust a virus/intrusion system made by MS for Windows.

It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

Personally, I think it would be only responsible for Microsoft to do so with their OS and I think it would end most viruses, immediately.
If the MS virus application had shortcomings, users could certainly pick up third party applications.

I'm using XP Pro, and if I turn off my firewall for only a few minutes, I get those pesky Messenger ads. But I never get them with Zone Alarm enabled.![]()
