Sorry for the quick reply, I'm just on my way out.

You also need to reimport the database backup you made of your original site (presuming you want the page structure and content to be available).
If you don't know how let me know and I'll post more later on.

So do I

1. Install the new wordpress
2. Upload the files ( Do I do that beyond the theme file or beyond the public html )
3. Reimport the database backup

Are those in the right order and yes please can you let me know how I do the reimport for the database.

Ok, what I would do is the following.

1. Install WordPress

• Download and unzip the WordPress package.
• Create a database for WordPress on your web server, as well as a MySQL user who has all privileges for accessing and modifying it.
• Upload the WordPress files to the desired location on your web server, e.g. http://mysite.com/wordpress1/
• Run the WordPress installation script by accessing the URL where you uploaded the WordPress files in a web browser.
• When prompted for the table prefix, ensure that you enter the same one as is used in the backup that you are intending to restore.

2. Restore your database from the backup

• Login to phpMyAdmin.
• Click databases, and select the database that you will be importing your data into.
• Across the top of the screen will be a row of tabs. Click the Import tab.
• On the next screen will be a Location of Text File box, and next to that a button named Browse.
• Click Browse. Locate the backup file stored on your computer.
• Make sure the SQL radio button is checked.
• Click the Go button.

3. Upload themes etc.

• Upload your theme folder via FTP.
• Upload the contents of /wp-content/uploads/ via FTP

If everything went according to plan, that should be it.

ok, this is a little different from what I'm used to. I've been spoilt with one click wordpress setup but it seems more like what I do on locasl host. I'm give a go - here goes!
