I couldnt gage from your post whether you have db support or not...

Phorum is VERY hard to install in my opinion.

Also, vBulletin sounds perfect for what you want (limted forum).

Yeah, when first read the instruction of Phorum, I almost moved it to Recycle Bin!!
However, when you get used to it, it's cool yet powerful (the authors seem to take security a high priority)

And there are quite a lot of people prefer thread-style over this style (vBulletin,UBB,...)
