    Hi everyone..

I know this discussion will be interesting..

How do you get your clients? Many of the SP members are not from Canada or the US, and want to get clients from these countries due to higher payment opportunity..

For example, what kind of advice would you give to someone who is starting out from the UK and wants to get a client from the US?
    - A simple online WYSIWYG editor for HTML code snippets.
    - Managed Web Hosting - $3.95/month (resellers welcome)
    - Why pay more? $8.95 domains & $9.95 SSL certificates!

I would do so through the use of the signature, maybe offering help/partnership in the Trading Post Forum. Outside the SP community I would try to go to http://www.elance.com - you can get projects to work on from them.

Target your website at Americans, advertise at sites that are either american or related to america.

Ask fellow SP addicts if they know someone who is looking for a designer. Ask those of us, who live in the states and maybe are willing to form some sort of an alliance, at least to start with.

It's a good topic, I would like to hear everyone esle's opinions!

    Americans LOVE the word FREE!

Offer something free to your clients, like a free e-book or template you've designed. Give them a domain name appraisal or valuable e-commerce advice, something that they feel they can't find anywhere else! That will also demonstrate your expertise to them, and also show them that you're willing to give away valuable information to get their patronage.

Just make sure that whatever you choose to give away has to do with the product you're selling. Someone ordering work on a website isn't going to be interested in $200 worth of hair styling gel

You can see an example of free stuff at work at my small but growing "freebie" section on Pawsitronic.com:
