    Instead of
    Code:
    <!--#include file="../common.asp"-->
    Use this:
    Code:
    <!--#include virtual="/chat/common.asp"-->
    The #include file command cannot go up a directory, only deeper down into directories; and include virtual has to start at the site root.

    Hope this helps!

    It should not be: blah/publi_html/chat/common.asp
    It should be: /chat/common.asp

    Your page root would be /, even though the physical location is blah/public_html. It's how the site is designated to asp.

    It is possible to go up a directory with #include. It has to be enabled in IIS though (I think the setting is called Enable Parent Paths).
