Self-hosted wordpress. I don't even read blogspot blogs. If you're serious about your blog, get a domain name and a small hosting account. It can be as cheap as $25/year.

    +1

Also, I think when it comes to personalizing your Blog, you'll find a whole lot more support and tips to customize your WordPress theme than you'll find in customizing a Blogspot theme.

I have seen several Blogspot blogs that are very nice, professional and ranking well but still i think those blog owners would do much better if they used Wordpress. One thing really is customizing but it is also much harder to SE optimize a Blogspot blog, this is biggest disadvantage.

Blogger is a good thing if you just start running your blog. On the other hand, the functionality is rather limited and the management is monotonous one. But Blogger is one of the Google's prodigies and such blogs are well-indexed that is good for SEO (if you keep the rules of the true blog).
WordPress is a multi functional CMS platform that may serve of full value website, say nothing of blog! But still, you should have some basic experience of the blog running to work with WordPress!
