Hi, my site is currently listed under the "Tutorials and Documentation" section of the Java section on yahoo.

My site has grown to be more than just tutorials and documentation, though. Do you all think it would be worthwhile to try to get it listed in the normal Java section as well as the Tutorials and Documentation section?

Definitely try to use the update listing feature. Don't try submitting it again.

Get listed on google, dogpile, and altavista. They are the new hot ones if you ask me.

Yahoo is slipping with the crap in their engine.

Google was ranked better than Yahoo for results by a handful of reviewers also (professionals, not me).

FYI - Dogpile is one of those engines that searches other engines and compiles the results.

For update in yahoo, do we need to pay 199 to ensure prompt updating? or the worst is they won't ensure an update/a review even though you paid 199??

    Any experience?

For "commercial sites" Yahoo is now requiring the $199 payment to be listed (i.e. no more free listings for business sites).

FWIW, I think most engines and dirs will go that way eventually.

James - Yahoo uses it's own directory first, then google.

Actually, my other site gets huge traffic from yahoo.google!
