    What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to add some background music for a client's website using Flash. I imported the full song (3.2 Mb) in mp3 format into Flash, and then I used the Edit Envelope feature of Flash and shortend the song down to 25 seconds and faded it out. I got it the way I want it, but when I export it into the .swf format the file size is still 3.2 MB! What am I doing wrong. I am still a novice at Flash so maybe there is something obvious that I am not doing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not an expert on sound in flash, but mp3 is already a compressed (? - maybe not the right term) format. Flash will I think import the Mp3 and then just play it.
It can't really compress it any further..

You will need to edit the .mp3 with an audio editing program BEFORE importing it into Flash. Try something like Cool Edit.
