Hi guys, I received an email today saying that ead stop serving ads. Anyone knows what really makes them like that!?
----------
eAds Hostsites:
Effective Monday, October 9, 2000, eAds will no longer sell advertising or
serve banners for your site. Checks will be sent on October 20, 2000 and
will include September, October and any other accrued clicks in the account
in accordance with the rules. Anyone violating the rules will not be paid.
eAds' decision in no way reflects on your website or its traffic. This was
an internal decision based on eAds' future direction. This decision is
final
and will not be reconsidered.
Thank you for 5 years of fun and success. We wish you all the best in your
future endeavors.

When they couldn't even offer a measily 10 cents/click, I knew it was all down road from there, much like all the pay-to-surf companies (hence AllAdvantage) - and this just concludes the story.
Bye bye eAds.

The sign up area of their site says:
We are no longer accepting sites that have
less then 100,000 impressions a month.

Hehe, already most of the links either come up broken or with the same Ask Jeeves ad. Just checked my stats page at eads.com and all of the banners I can choose from are the same Ask Jeeves IQ ad (8 of them)
I took that as a hint and pulled them all down.
Need a new sponsor now...

Adam:
That's a little harsh, isn't it? eAds put money into a lot of people's pockets, who couldn't find any other ad network to take their dinky little sites. It was an easy solution for a lot of webmasters.
As I understand it, the cost of serving the ads, selling the space, and paying a zillion people in small amounts was just more than they needed. Moving it to a high-volume-only network is just a business decision. Their technology is reliable, and I'm sure they'll be successful at it.
I hope to see your site up and running soon, since all these eAds sites are going to be looking for a better solution, now that the issue is forced on them.

What a delight to see the demise of Eads. I joined a few months ago for the site. After making about $0.30 they cancelled my account saying that the 3 clicks generated in a few days were obviously fraudelent.... Hmm.
After some complaint they reinstated me but only cancelled it again by the time I had made one dollar - they refused to give any evidence for what they deemed my "illegitimate activity". (I'd not clicked my own banners obviously)
Clearly a company that wanted to serve its ads across, but couldn't actually cope with its side of the bargain. Good to see that it won't be wasting banner space on the WWW any more.
