    We've Attacked!

The US has just launched Tomahawk missles at a 'key target' in Baghdad. They believe key leaders of Iraq were located in the building. Bush is to speak in 25 minutes.

    Well it has started...

Anti-Aircraft guns and air raid sirens are being fired in Baghdad.

Ari Fleischer has stated that the "De-armament of the Iraqi Regime" has begun.

The President of the United States will make an Address at 10:15 p.m. Eastern Time tonight.

Air raid sirens were heard in Baghdad at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday (9:30 p.m. Wednesday ET) about 90 minutes after the U.S. deadline for Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to step down or face a U.S.-led military attack

I remember Gulf War I vividly. I was scared to death. I'm scared to death again, but in a different way. Can't say I support the cause completely, but I'm behind our boys.

No word really on what they were targeting or what they hit, and that's the way it should stay. The last thing we need is a whole bunch of reporters twisting the facts and pulling another "Operation Afganistan" on CNN where they vividly described all of the vehicles used by our forces and where they were.

We'll hear about it in good time.

It is hard to tell how much damage has been done due to a large amount of smoke over the city. It seems they dug a huge trench around the city and filled it with oil then set it on fire so that it would be impossible to get satellite photos of the area. It was probably supposed to mess up targeting systems too, but that didn't work.

Ah, the plot thickens. If what you say is true, then the government is learning how to keep the media out of where they shouldn't be in the first place.

The missiles that would have been used are Tomahawk cruise missiles most likely based off of various ships in the Gulf.

They carry about 1000 pounds of explosives so while they can take out a building, they won't do large scale damage.

aaaah, thank you ole infamous Luke Yeh, tomhawks arent the cream of the crop, but they do tend to give someone a headache

Since the war is about the oil, I think the oil around the city is a funny idea, although primitive but somewhat a civilized idea.

I dont know who i am wanting to win anymore (I dont like americans that much either dont mind 'em though).

"My prayers are with our guys and girls in Iraq. They're braver than I'll ever be." - true that.

Put it this way, they start rectriting people here in AUS, I'll tell the military to stick it up that continental *** of theirs

Since the war is about the oil
You are misinformed, good sir. This war is not about oil. It's about several things, oil not really one of them. We have the technology to use Hydrogen cells as fuel for our automobiles, it's just not economic enough yet to be implemented (like an interface ;-)).

This war is about taking an evil man who has killed countless people and getting him off of the throne, and liberating an oppressed people. It's about the principle of freedom, and how it needs to be applied around the world. And most of all, it's about the concept that prevention is the best medicine; Sadaam has weapons, and if he will kill his own people, he won't hesistate to kill some Americans. Hell, americans? He won't discriminate, he would happily kill anyone who wouldn't lick his feet. This war is about saving the common man from an untimely fate at the hands of a madman with weapons of mass destruction.

    Not oil.

With all due respect that is not the correct word to describe what is going on. Wait to hear about the casualties
