    Does anyone know of a script(s) that are a team of functions to simplify the retrieval, addition, and changeing of data from PHP to MYSQL.

    I just dont want to go write some functions to do this and then find out that such a thing already exists, but i have had a quick look and cannot find such a thing.

    TIA

    Get phpMyAdmin from http://www.phpwizard.net

    Its a great program, very easy to set up, and is what you're looking for.

    If you're good at SQL and can write SQL queries like you type a sentence you'll find it even easier to use.

    If I understand your needs are you looking for an admin program or a set of functions for running queries on a MySQL db for output using php, in that case I would look into PHPLIB http://phplib.netuse.de

    Thanks a million guys but neither of the scripts you mentioned are new to me, or what im looking for.

    I am really looking for a library of functions, or classes, to be included in my scripts that will simplify the access of mysql.

    I have almost finished writing one...lol

    Thanks again guys

    Thanks

    usually I copy the local.inc file and dump everything under
    Class DB extends DB_Sql {
    class stuff
    }
    and then paste the whole db_mysql.inc file into the local file under this and then just include the one file on the pages needing db connection

    If you have PHP4 then you have a very good set of database functions at your disposal with the PEAR library, if you have an early version of PHP4 then you will need to download it again to get this library of scripts.

    The DB section of PEAR provides an abstraction layer for the DB so that you can change the Database System that you use e.g. MySQL -> pgSQL and not have to change your code (Assuming that the Database and the tables are still the same).
