How do I make this 'colour washed' b+w image ?

    Hi all,

I want to make a graphic like the one here

    http://www.thebritishmuseum.ac.uk/pa...uk/par_tit.jpg

and only have fireworks 4 to hand. I could not find anything in any other posts but apologies if I am repeating something.

    Quick and Dirty:

Open your B+W image. On a new layer create a rectangle of the colour you want to wash the image with, covering the whole image. In the properties pallette decrease the Opacity slider/value until it is at a suitable level (=/- 30%).

    That work/Help?

    Getting there !

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for this. How can I reduce the colour image I have to black and white in Fireworks ? Is it on the colour menu ?

    Apols for newbie comments !

Ah sorry, I didnt realise you wanted to know how to make it B+W first.

Well, in FW MX, which is all I have from the FW family Im afraid, its

Modify -> Creative -> Covert to Grayscale.

Im not sure if its the same for FW4.

Dont worry about newbie comments, there are no silly questions here. Ask anything

Thanks - I will play around and let you know what FW4 has to offer (or upgrade I guess !)
