I need help/opinions with Streaming Media

Hi,

I'm building a site that will need to have quite a few "movie" files on it. Each file is at least 2-3 minutes.

I originally planned to have a "multimedia" section where people had the choice of streaming Real Video (which my current host provides) or download a larger Quicktime or Windows Media file.

However, the person I'm building the site with now wants to use streaming media on the first page (index.html).

However, I see some problems right away in terms of visitors needing the correct plug-in, loading video (and audio) that wasn't requested, needing another host if Real Media is not used for streaming, etc.

Just curious to what others think of this situation. Also, does anyone know of any good hosting packages that support Windows Media, Quicktime, and Real Media Streaming?

I don't think put streaming media in first page is a good idea. It's better to put it in other section.
