    WAVE - Web Accessibility Validator

just thought i'd share this link with you all... http://www.wave.webaim.org - a web accessibility validator in a similar vein to the infamous bobby. although it doesn't give you a report at the end (and it doesn't give you a set of cheesy buttons to adorn your site with), it is nevertheless quite useful, once you learn all the different icons. the big advantage over bobby is that error and alerts are clearly placed right "visually" right where the problem occurs on the page, making the process of hunting down problems a lot easier for wysiwyg editing. give it a go and see for yourselves...

Thanks Redux that is a great link, shame about the lack of a logo to place on our site, the boss would have loved another logo

It appears that my WVYFC beta is following the right path according to that analysis, it is also nice to observe some of the benefits of semantic mark-up, rather than just listen to JAWS or run Opera 7.0 'user mode'.

It was pleasant to notice it picked up the issues with Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) "*Is it in tagged PDF format…" I already knew about the alternative but haven't had time to play with Acrobat's Accessibility features.

However, it was nice to get that clarified, so I'll probably rollout some 'XHTML Basic 1.0' alternatives and use Acrobat 5.0 to ensure 'Tagged PDF Format' is implemented.

Cynthia Says is another checker, but it's much closer to Bobby's style. Oh, and yes, it gives you cheesy buttons as well. ;-)
