    window.opener.location

    Hi,

    I have a inventory control program written and I use
    window.opener.location='filename.html'; window.close()

    It works fine in ie6 on windows 98 and XP home but sometimes for users with XP professional it crashes ie6 (wants to send a error reports to microsoft and the closes)

    I was wondering if it could be that professionals "mutil" processing causing a problem by 1 process excuting before the other?

    Any ideas?

    And what exactly, does "opener" represent? Does it represent a pop up window? If so, you don't need the "window." at the front of that line.

    Also, you should use "location.href", not "location='';" -- location.href is more correct.

    window.opener refers to the window which has opened the popup you are in.

    If you use window.opener.location.replace('theURL'); you will be redirected to theURL.
