    PHP Servlet-like engine?

I remember reading somewhere about an experimental project where PHP scripts were "compiled" and stored in memory like Java Servlets. Does anyone know what I'm referring to?

yep, and for Windows, there's Turck MMCache.

be warned though, i don't know how stable it is (on Win anyway). version 2.3.3 is the only one that works for me. every newer version so far crashes Apache.

definitely use PHP Accelerator unless you use Windows. it should really improve performance (as does Turck when it works ).
