What's the best free video editing software

Hello! I am trying to make videos from photos and clips I took from a trip. I am wondering if there are other great video editing software out there that's free. I have already tried windows movie maker, wax 2.0, zwei stein, and video spin (not free that's why I didn't use it).

Unfortunately, the free video editor market is rather thin, and what's there is lackuster and unreliable (ie, crash-prone). However, here's a list:

In the end, if you don't want to spend a lot, it's usually best to go with a $50-$100 retail package. If you want to edit HD footage, be sure to check to see if it's supported, as it isn't always included in the cheaper versions if there are multiple versions of a video editing suite.

I haven't done video editing for quite a while, but there's a list of video editors at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...iting_software (open source, freeware, and commercial). I've used Avidemux before.

Adobe is offering the CS2 versions of their products for free on their website. So maybe say Premiere CS2?

The link said that "The serial numbers below should only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2"

    Avid FreeDV is free.

Wow, look at that. That notice wasn't up when I posted the link just yesterday.

It's been there since the page went up a few months back...it's just not very prominent.

Use Windows Movie Maker 6.0, it is easy to use, works well with pictures and videos, includes some video effects and can export to several formats, it is still very limited as far as functionality standpoint.
This site is the go-to place for web designs.

I've noticed that it tends to crash with projects that get longer than a few minutes.

According to my opinion "VideoPad Video Editor" is best for Editing videos. I have been started to used it about 2 months ago and it helps me allot in my work. So according to my experience it is simple to use and quality provider.

    Windows Movie Maker 2012
    Avidemux

I`d say Windows movie maker is the most user friendly of them all, and it`s totally free. But if you need to add more complex effects, like a motion blur etc, you should get a professional one, like Sony Vegas.

    NCH Video Pad.

I have used it, it is more or less similar to Adobe Premiere Pro. Quite easy to use. Lets you export in multiple formats, especially for online use. There is a format called Youtube HQ, if you are creating online videos, you can directly select this format. It may not be as great as Premiere Pro with the effects it provides, but if all you want to do is chop off a few frames, add some pictures and titles, this would be just right for you. 30 days free trial.

There are a few good ones available on internet but for me Windows Movie Maker is the best software to edit videos. It's totally free of cost. It's easy to use but if you want to make your video look more professional by adding some cool effects , transitions, etc you should check Sony Vegas, It's my top favorite software. If you want to know more about Sony vegas pro please visit http://qitch.com/questions/what-is-t...iting-software

What's the best free video editing software

I am personally using Corel to edit my video and make a new video. It is lighter, good and easy to use. Hope it is better for you.

I use camtesia for video editing, that's really helpful and full free. Although there is a problem that software size is too large. But helpful...
