Scrollbars not scrolling
I have scrollbars set to 1 but I can't scroll. The bar appears but arrow is greyed. Here's the code:
Can someone tell me what I'm missing?
792px is a pretty tall popup. Are you sure the content is long enough to warrant scrolling?
I'm using the popup to create a print friendly page. The Scroll Bars don't work because 792px is larger than the page. when I make the length 450px they work fine.
All I'm displaying in the popup is a .jpg (colouring contest with participant information) that is 612 x 792 (8.5 x 11). I want this to print on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper but the output is small. When I increase the size to 10 x 12 it prints on one page and almost fills the page. This is what I'm looking for but I'm concerned it won't print the same on all printers and the 10 x 12 go to 2 pages.
10 x 12? huh? Inches?
Do you have access to Adobe Acrobat (the full version, not just the reader) or Adobe Photoshop? Both of these will let you create PDF's, into which you can insert a jpg to a printed page and get consistent results...regardless of the user's setup.
Yes, it is 10 x 12 inches. I'm using Photoshop and Quark to produce the file so I am able to create a .pdf file. I was trying not to use .pdf because it requires the reader to be installed on the client. This is only a colouring contest therefore I may loose users if they have to install the reader.
The 10 x 12 works good. I'm just concerned about consistency, which the .pdf will control. Decisions.
Installing the reader should not be a hassle, and if you think it will be, then instead of finding a much-less-suitable workaround, you need to educate your users that installing the reader is a benefit to them, not only for the application on your site, but for the thousands (dare I say millions) of websites that distribute documents via PDF. Afterall, PDF means Portable Document Format.
And, for the facts that I state above, I think you will find that most of your users already have Reader installed.
