I am trying to make a webpage and there is something that I want on it, however, I have no idea how to get it. I want a scrollbar that has jpegs. I want a person to be able to scroll through thumbnails (in the scrollbar) and click on it and be brought to the link.
Does anyone know of a script that I can get that will do that? I know nothing about writing scripts.
Thank you to anyone that helps.
I don't mean to be pedantic, but do you mean a scroll bar underneath/beside the list of thumbnails rather than a scrollbar (like down the side of this page) actually containing pictures?
I want a scrollbar like the side, that will scroll through the thumbnails, and not the whole page. I want to make a page small enough that there will not be a scollbar, however, there will be a lot of thumbnails that will need to be scrolled through.
On the right side of the page, I want to have a section with one thumbnail on top of the other, and so on. When you click on the thumbnail, it will link you to another page. Maybe I should be using the term icon, I don't know.
There will be a lot of thumbnails, so I will need a scrollbar for them. I do not want the number of thumbnails to edit the length of the page. If you still don't understand, then please reply. I don't know anything about this stuff.
I know its difficult to understand. Believe me, I'm not sure if I can describe it too easily.
Thanks for helping/reading.
Actually, I don't think this is exactly what you had in mind, but it's rather neat :)
I'm sure that I've seen something on that website that's more like what you were after, but I haven't been able to find it.
Take a look and see what you think.
Yes, I think that will do just fine. Each photo is a link?
Where did you get that, or can I please get something like that?
The first link is what I believe I want. not the second one. I don't want to do a photo slide show. I want it to link to different pages.
The first link is just vapour-ware I'm afraid.
It only exists in my paint package :)
It might be possible using i-frames, but I don't know how cross-browser compatible they are.
I'll keep looking though. It's an interesting problem.
Thanks alot for your help! Please reply again if you find out more.:fangel:
I think that any of the top three links from THIS PAGE should do what you're after...
Thanks Alot Andy!
I think that will work perfectly. I just hope I can figure out how to insert pictures (as links).
If you get really stuck give me a shout, but it's probably like the blind leading the blind from here on in ;)
