Ok, I'm fairly new to creating web sites for other people. I currently have a customer that has a web site that is recieving on average 275 unique visits a day, highest was about 350. The have some space where they would like to put up a banner and a small "button" type of banner. What would be the best way to sell this space? Selling banners? Click thru's? Any advice would be helpful.
I downloaded a copy of WebAdverts (you need CGI access and your server must support SSI's to effectively use it) and am in the process of setting up ad space on http://www.StreetBikersUnited.com. You'll find your answer in greater detail on this website actually (Matt has packed WR with tons of info). Just goto the home page and navigate your way through the articles, ti;; you find the one about selling ad space on your site.
On a personal level, I'd recommend going to an impression system and offer 'sponsorship' of certain areas.
By the way Matt, I end up pointing more and more people to articles on your site! I constantly find myself coming back here on a regular basis to reread article all the time. I must have ten pages of this site bookmarked! Keep it up!
