The ESPN looks OK to me and I've seen worse view-source.
The CBS didn't render OK (the top part of the brackets is "under" the header) and view-source shows a mess of javascript. Sure enough, with javascript disabled, no brackets. I guess this must be for the

(I'm not much of a sports fan, but do the stats really change that often?)
IMHO the CBS site gets an overall :tdown:
Slow load in, poor mark-up/CSS, pop-up ad, non-graceful degrade.
So much for progressive enhancement.
Well, I didn't look at either source, nor did I submit brackets, but I've already downloaded and printed the printable versions of both ESPN and CBS brackets, and the ESPN brackets are far superior to the CBS version; clearer and less cluttered. Not sure if this addresses your question, but it's at least a side note. :)
