I have read all threads about textarea and didn't find one I could really execute in my scripts, so I'm here to ask you about a readonly textarea:
1)in IE works fine putting just disable or readonly;
I read what http://www.w3c.org says about it: there are readonly AND disable, but it says nothing (that I have seen) about which browser implements what. So I thought these arguments are both for IE and Netscape. The problem is Netscape does not work?
What solution would you do to me: make two pages, recognizing which browser the client is? Or there is some way to do that with both browsers.
Thanks for while.
If you use this:
Your textarea will effectively be read only.
Thank you so much brokenvoice.:D I don't know what I did before that didn't work.
Where can I get really ones? Thanks.
whenever i have a question bout something in navigator,
i pick out these links off my "favorites" netscape folder
bout the most up to date documentation on objects and their methods,
hopes this helps!
But what if you want to make a site for both browsers (Netscape and IE - and other ones, of course). How can I deal with all new features?
Since both IE and Netscape have (finally) decided to adhere to the standards of W3C, the current versions of both browsers will run code in the same way. Ex., you build for IE, it should run fine in Netscape 6. Earlier versions are still a problem, since they have their own compatibility issues, but in the future, I think we may have an easier go of it.
:) Mind you still need to test for all browsers, so that your sure it works ;)
This will force those people who does not have newer browsers adopt them. I say this because there are A LOT of people with "old" browsers. Do what, huh?
