OK, I know this is a very common problem but I'm having problems installing Apache (2.2.6)/PHP (5.2.5)/MySQL (5.1.11) on Windows....
Despite performing all the usual configuration changes (editing conf.httd, php.ini adding the required .dll's) but PHP seems to be unable to *see* MySQL.
Running the phpinfo() function returns information about PHP etc but does not include information about MySQL.
Any ideas?

If your setting up Apache/Php/MySql on your machine just as a test server for development, you may want to opt with one of these packages that has everything included and configured :

http://mamp.info/en/index.php ( for mac os/x )
OK, thanks for that but I'd really like to nail this issue as I'm having the same problem with PHP and MySQL on another machine running IIS.
As I say PHP is running OK but it just can't see MySQL.
Did you set the correct path to extension_dir in php.ini?
The manual page is very explicit and helpful about win32 PHP5 installs when it comes to mysql.
Once you get going I'd strongly advise using mysqli or PDO extensions.

MySQL is working, in the PATH and ok, the same with Apache. I found that MySQL is NOT enabled by default in PHP 5 like it was in PHP 4, but I haven't found the settings that I have have to set in the PHP.INI file in order to tell PHP about MySQL.
I have been trying uncommenting some lines but it just don't work. Does anybody knows where to find exactly what the settings has to be enabled in the PHP.INI to make this work?
Oh, and I copied the DLL's from the ext folder to the c:\php\ folder too instead of changing the setting in the php.ini file.
Everything is working fine but no MySQL access for PHP in my webpages.
