I am trying to get my GCI forum up and running.
When trying to set it up, I get the following message:
Top AnyBoard web directory was set to [ /home/chiefmontagna/www/anyboard/ ] in the Anyboard script (/usr/home/chiefmontagna/cgi-bin/anyboard.cgi), however, this directory does not exist on your web server. Please create a directory, make it writable (e.g., chmod 0777 directory_name), and assign its path to the $abmain::fix_top_dir variable in the script.
As far as I can see on my website, the directory exists and it is set to 777.
Are there errors in the following lines of my script?
# can be an absolute path or a path relative to the working dir
$abmain::fix_cgi_url="http://chiefmontagna.com/cgi-bin/anyboard.cgi"; # the full URL of this script, e.g., http://mysite.com/cgi-bin/anyboard.cgi
$abmain::fix_top_dir="/home/chiefmontagna/www/anyboard/"; # the directory that will host all anyboard forums, e.g, /home/mysite/www/anyboard/
$abmain::fix_top_url="http://www.chiefmontagna.com/anyboard/"; # the URL of the directory above, e.g., http://www.mysite.com/anyboard/
As you can probably tell, I am a novice. Any help would be appreciated.
I would love to help but I understand cgi programming about as well as I understand quantum physics. :)
could be a number of things but are you able to run cgi-scripts on the server to start with?
if so the error messages mean many different things.
such as the path to PERL on the server,
badly written CGI script, etc.
let me know how you get on.
it's like 3am???!!!!!!
You may be using incorrect path.
Your current path: /home/chiefmontagna/www/anyboard/
It may need to be:
depending upon whey you have loaded the files.
