I am trying to do the following:
Have a "News" section on my site
in order to update the news, can have a password protected area (that part i can do).
Once into this area, I want to have a form that I can fill out and it will update the "News" page accordingly.
Also want the ability to delete old news from the site also.
Go to http://www.hotscripts.com and search for a perl script called "News Admin". I havn't set it up myself yet but I have had it reccomended to me by a lot of people.
Thank You. I will try that. The problem with most that I am finding is that it is an NT machine and I do not have access to the mySQL database, at least I dont think I do.
Are you sure that they offer MySQL on their NT accounts? Most NT host don't. Most offer SQL Server which is a totally different product. SQL Server is designed to integrate with NT and IIS so its a natural product to offer. Also most hosts charge a nominal extra fee for SQL access. Also the functionality of SQL Server includes a lot more than mySQL including Stored Procedures and Triggers which allows you to move most of your code into the database for faster execution and scalability. MySQL has this functionality scheduled to be added "some time".
p.s. See the documentation at www.mysql.org for more details.
