Good Ruby Tutorial
_thank you, i am working my way through the Chris Pine book but i have printed this to have a quick peruse
_the little book of ruby from SapphireSteel http://www.sapphiresteel.com/The-Little-Book-Of-Ruby_click the .pdf and share the resource
Thanks for sharing the 'little book" Wicksie.
I find it helpful.
another good tutorial is here:
it isn't a classical ruby tutorial, rather, it is a perl programmer's using ruby in a pretty procedural way. this isn't where you want to end up, but it *is* nice to learn about ruby in familiar territory before delving into OOP. the author makes this clear early on and provides a link to some OOP goodness, although i haven't checked it out yet.
this tutorial is recommended for php, perl and other procedural programmers to get a leg into ruby syntax. once you get comfortable there, its on to OOP, ya you know me!
