A complete table of contents can be found on the book sales page.
Would Kevins book allow me to build and maintain a car selling website through the use of databases?
I don't have any experience of PHP or SQL, iam really good with Microsoft Access.

"This card should not have an issue number."
not accept my visa card....
Where should I complain...
my address
uatt@china.com
order@sitepoint.com
If you have problems with WorldPay you can also pay via PayPal.... Visa should work without a problem though if you entered all the information accurately.
You probably should have left the issue number blank when filling out the form.
Yes, this is the problem
"Issue Number (Switch/Solo only)"
My card has no such number..
Is it not 1 ?
or something else..
i do not have a credit card.

So hard to buy a book ...
...ordered my copy! I've got great aspirations for my site and a flat file system is just becoming to cumbersome to maintain! I've been looking for a "PHP for Dummies" level book in stores and haven't been able to find one. Looks like Kevin's book may be just what I was looking for! < I really, really hope so since I rarely fork over that much money for a book >
:hangin:
totenmaske: The book will serve you just fine!
If not we'll happily refund your money.
Mark.
How long does take the book to arrive? I ordered mine on October 6 and haven't received it yet. :(
pulsorocker,
Send an email to order@sitepoint.com with the date of your order and the name on the credit card used for the order and I should be able to determine its status.
I just received a call that it arrived today. thanks :)Quote:

How cool! :D
I am surprised people are complaining about the price. I live in Canada (est price is going to be around 55$ canadian) and that is cheap for a reference manual. I typically spend upwards of 80 to 100$.
I got my book the other day.. yay -- I have a mission on Kevin's book, to go front to back in 5 days :)
Every book I get on computing has the smallest text in it, like my eyes have a zoom in feature. With Kevin's book the text is 1-2 sizes bigger which makes it easy to read and understand.
A+ :D
Glad you approve! :)
In chapter 3 online as well as in the code in the zip file i get this error on my server
Parse error: parse error, expecting `','' or `';'' in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot/serverscripting/PHP/chapter3/samplepage.php on line 12
Is anyone else getting this,
why is it doing that?
Brendon
PS. just bought the book, cant wait
This is a known typo in the first edition of the book and code archive. Check out the errata page for the book and download the latest version of the code archive for the corrected code. I'll update the online version of the chapter immediately.

what's errata?
and there's an online version of the book?
where?
erratum -- fancy latin word for a mistake
errata -- fancy latin word for more than one mistake
errata page -- fancy Web page where we list the mistakes that have been found in the book
The "online version" of the book consists of the introduction and the first four chapters. It all starts here.
Mister Yank?
